18 Rabbis for 18 Days Resource
This resources aims to encourage reflection and debate.
We invited rabbis to to share what it is that inspires them to care about protecting our planet. The letters which make up the Hebrew word 'chai', meaning life, add up to 18. And so, we set out in search of 18 rabbis, and were very fortunate to receive 19 thought-provoking entries from across the UK and as far afield as Las Vegas and Sydney.
This resource can be used as part of a learning session or laminated and displayed by recycling points. It could also be used as place mats at lunchtime. To download the 18 Rabbis for 18 Days resources, click here.
Ethical Living Guide
BBYO and UJS have teamed up to produce Ethical Living Guide which they hope will be a practical resource to help you identify certain things in your life which you do have control over and have the power to change.
As Rabbi Tarfon used to say: It is not upon you to complete the task, but you are not free to desist from it.
The guide provides many simple, practical ideas to help you make that little bit of a difference.
No wholesale changes are demanded; if everybody can be inspired to make small modifications here and there, the collective impact can be huge!
Fashion, food, the home, travel and shopping are covered and in addition to identifying issues within the topic, tick boxes suggest practical ways to make a difference. The guide also provides specific ways for youth groups & students to have an impact on their community and thereby change the world.
In November 2010 and March 2011 Interact's Eco-Faith project brought together a group of 16-25 year olds of multi-faiths and non-religious beliefs to explore the relationship between faith and environmental action.
The Eco-Faith Pack is one product of this project.
